| Physical Description | On the taller side, Clare’s physique comes across as solid and muscular rather than slender. Her dark brown hair is shaved on the sides and back but left longer on the top, usually combed over on the left side. She has several scars on her back and lower torso. One, which starts at the side of her neck and winds down across her chest, has a thistle tattoo, but the uniform collar mostly covers it. |

| Personal History | Clare spent the first part of her childhood on various postings, following her mother around the Federation, finding herself enamored with the idea of continuing the familial tradition of Starfleet service and did so once she turned 17, despite the Federation being at war. She graduated from Basic as a Security specialist before being deployed into the conflict. Clare found herself posted at Athos Colony where she participated in the Battle of ChaKana and was seriously injured. After recovery, she was sent to Starbase Zetta, amongst other postings, throughout the war. Post-war found her stationed on the USS Enterprise as a team leader for several years until she was transferred to the brand new USS Ares for several more years. The Ares assisted in the ongoing reconstruction and recovery efforts while also dealing with several minor incidents out in the frontier areas. 2263 found her posted to Starbase 343, mistakenly assigned as Admiral Hartshaw’s Yeoman, which she tried to protest. The Admiral found it an amusing mistake and insisted on keeping her assigned as such, training her in additional leadership methodology. She repaid his mentoring by saving him from an attack. He promptly enrolled her in Officer Candidate School during her recovery which led to a commission in 2265. Clare was assigned to Starbase 47, now back in Security, and was paired with Velasaria Azumé for a roommate. Clare was assigned back to the USS Ares for several years before being selected to serve as a Diplomatic Security Officer at Starfleet Headquarters, and instructing at Starfleet Academy. She happily took an assignment back out in the Fleet when the Chief Security Officer on the USS Kensington selected her as his Assistant Chief. Clare stepped up to serve as the Acting Chief when he had to go on extended leave the following year, enjoying the challenge of leading the whole department. She returned to the Ares in 2281 when Captain Andrea Jacken, who had served with her on the Ares in 2260 and 2268 and was one of her mentors, requested that she serve as her Chief of Security. Following the Ares’s decommissioning in 2287, Clare chose to return to space aboard the USS Amaterasu over serving at Starfleet HQ. |
