Officer Duty Uniform

Introduced in the late 2270s the officer uniform sported black trousers and a double-breasted red jacket worn over a turtlenecked undershirt. The undershirt, along with stripes on the pants, shoulder, and left sleeve had distinctive division colors. The jacket closed by a clasp at the right shoulder and a sealing mechanism that ran along the black stripe. This allowed the wearer to have a more relaxed appearance and allowed more circulation of air. The interior of the flap was color coded to departments; white for command division, beige for all others. An optional skirt with or without leggings was also available.

The strap over the right shoulder in addition to closing the uniform, indicated the Officer's Division, Rank, and any training assignment they were on. This same information was represented by a strap on the Officer's left cuff, along with devices commonly referred to as "pips" and "squeaks" that denoted time in service. Cadets on training cruise wore a diagonal flash across their wrist braid to denote their area of focus.

A turtleneck undershirt was a feature of all variations of an Officer's uniform. The color of the undershirt represented division. The shirt was worn under the Officer's jacket at all times, but was also seen underneath an Officer's Vest. The turtleneck was not authorized to be worn on its on while on duty.

Officer Duty Vest

Officers could opt to wear a vest on duty either in place or underneath their Uniform Jacket. The vest was the same burgundy colored in front with black sides and backing. This less formal uniform was rarely seen on Officers except those of the Senior Staff and even then rarely anyone but the Captain and Executive Officer.

Two versions of excursion vests were also available for away missions; a dark brown almost red leather vest, similar in styling to the Officer Duty vest and a utility vest. The Utility vest was far more common as it sported several pockets and attachments for equipment cases to be carried. This vest also offered a small amount of protection against Phaser and Disruptor weapons making it a favorite of personnel in hazardous missions.

Command Bomber Jacket

Issued to officers of Command Rank and above, a suede leather bomber jacket was authorized for use. This uniform featured the divisional shoulder strap and sleeve cuff with rank insignia. a built in buckle took place of the standard uniform belt when the jacket was worn. This jacket was worn over the standard uniform turtleneck.

Chief Medical Officer Uniform

Consisting of a white wide collared shirt worn over the division undershirt, it was worn with white pants and boots. While still sporting the division color shoulder tabs where rank was displayed on the last version of the uniform, the only rank insignia was now displayed on the above the left cuff, where a division color strap was added.
